MIXED TECHNIQUE WITH VIDEO, SOUND AND VIBRATION

Although not terribly much happens, Cel Crabeels' museum room lingers. A film plays in which you occasionally see and hear a stone falling in a desolate landscape, a sort of lunar plain. The shock effect - literally and figuratively - of those falling stones gives way after a while to a more contemplative experience of time and space. Crabeels based this work on visual and audio material of volcanic landscapes and geysers that he collected during a stay in Iceland in 2006. That background history, however, is of little importance to the end result, for as is often the case in Crabeels' work, the image is above all a conductor or catalyst of indeterminate feelings.
