Silence (2012)
CONCRETE SCULPTURE
The title of this work reads like an invitation to contemplation and internalisation. But the use of rough and cold concrete also has something ominous about it. The fossilised word evokes associations with a tombstone or a modernist monument. In that sense, it seems to be a tribute to those who refuse to be silenced and who protest against cynicism and the status quo of the existing order.
