With Orban Space (2006-2012), Deleu wanted to map the spectrum of public spaces: from the streets, the Internet to the oceans of the world. For Museum to Scale, Deleu reduces this wide-ranging study of global public space to the confines of a diorama. In it he visualizes the field of tension between diverse aspects of Orban Space: from the utopian ideas on the wall on the right to the concrete research on the left. On this scale, his well-nigh futuristic research evokes contrarian memories of bygone days when cartographers set to work mapping the world with primitive means and great imagination. Or to Deleu himself, who sailed around the world in a sailboat and aboard a container ship.
