“Every day a new idea. With this statement, Leo Copers has been distancing himself from his conceptual contemporaries since the late 1960s. Indeed, Copers does not place the consistency of his ideas at the center, but rather their incalculable capriciousness. Copers is known for his critical and often ironic commentary on the art world. In his assemblages of ordinary things, the artist plays with altered contexts, charging the everyday and recognizable with alienating, new and stimulating meanings.
