Peter Buggenhout's unpolished sculptures resemble rubble piles, abandoned ruins or archaeological soil finds. For his massive installations and pedestaled sculptures, Buggenhout uses industrial waste, horse hair, entrails and dust. In this way, man's laborious dealings with themes such as the environment and transience creep into the artist's oeuvre. Works by Peter Buggenhout can be found at the M - Museum Leuven and the Museum De Pont (Tilburg), among others, as well as at the Centre Pompidou (Paris) and the MoMa (New York).
